Wah Janaab is an Indian television series that aired in 1984 on DD National.[1] Chitrartha Singh, who gained acclaim earlier from his Punjabi film Chann Pardesi had directed and late satirist Sharad Joshi had penned the series[2] based after 1878-1883 Ratan Nath Dhar Sarshar's classic novel Fasana-E-Azad.[3] This was the first TV appearance of actor and compere Shekhar Suman, where he played a paan spewing Lakhnawi nawab. Kiran Juneja played his love interest and Shailendra Goyal played hero's sidekick in the serial.

Introduction: Shekhar Suman is an Indian film actor, anchor, comedian, singer and politician. He was born on 7 December 1962 in a Kayastha family in Bihar. He started his career as a television actor in a serial Wah Janab. He made his film debut with Shashi Kapoor’s Utsav. He was last seen as one of the judges in Comedy Superstars on SAB TV.
